I replaced my PDF CV with something you can actually ask questions to I kept rewriting the same cover letter and changing three adjectives every time. Got annoyed enough to build the thing that does it instead. It's a Go API with a Next.js front. You can ask it about my projects and it answers from my actual history, not a canned bio. I read 121 free trial pages by hand. More than half of the publishers never say whether a credit card is required. I kept clicking "start free trial" and finding out at the last step that a card was needed, or that it renewed at a price I hadn't seen anywhere. So I started reading the publishers' pages myself and writing down exactly what they say: trial length, credit card, auto-renewal. Quoted word for word, with the date I read it. What surprised me is how often they say nothing at all
