Share the vinyl records you're spinning and see what other collectors are playing.
geekamongus · HN
I collect records and I build apps in my spare time (and listen to records while I build apps), and this is what happens when those two things run into each other. Many people post photos of what they have spinning on their turntables on social media, and most never get any engagement. It occurred to me that people might want a better way to do this, and bringing them together in a niche social site might help. So I made Wax Spinner. Connect your Discogs (the de-facto vinyl collector's catalogue) account, post whatever you're playing with an optional note, and it lands in a feed where people can like it and comment. You can also browse anyone's full collection on their profile, and filter the feed by genre, pulled straight from Discogs metadata. The conversation and the discovery are the primary purpose. The details this crowd might find interesting: every spin generates its own OpenGraph share card on the fly, with cover art, artist, year, and notes rendered server-side and cached

Generate hilarious AI horoscopes from your birthday or zodiac compatibility scores with two birthdays.

I built a funny birthday horoscope generator using AI — without writing a single line of code Been wanting to build something for a while but have no coding background. Finally tried describing my idea to Claude AI and it built the entire thing — frontend, backend, deployment config, everything. The site is called Zodumb. You enter your exact birthday and get a hilariously unhinged horoscope. Not generic zodiac stuff — it actually references your specific birth date, day of the week, age, a

Convert YouTube videos into vertical clips with AI captions and voiceover for social media.

I built LoupeReel to turn long videos into short-form clips without relying on a black-box clipping API Founder here. I’ve been working on LoupeReel, a web app that turns a long YouTube video into vertical clips for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts. The basic flow is: paste a YouTube link, choose how many clips you want, and LoupeReel transcribes the video, finds the strongest moments, scores them, adds captions, and renders ready-to-post clips. There’s also an editor so you can adju
