You can now compact your ChatGPT conversations Unlike Claude Code, ChatGPT does not compact chats whatsoever. They silently trim older messages in the background, instead of giving either a manual compact command, or auto compact like Claude Chat does. There's a host of non technical people using it who have no idea why their month old chats are slowing down and getting laggy lol.
