Block distracting websites by solving math or coding puzzles.

TLDR built a Chrome site blocker that lets you into distracting sites only after you do some math or simple coding (JS only right now). Direct link to extension (the site just gives you more context): https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/sphinx-earn-your-di... Philosophically it's a speed bump rather than a hard gate, because you'll eventually tear a gate down but you'll leave a speed bump. I've always eventually removed site blockers, or just had them become a nuisance that I reflexively dismiss before getting to distracting sites. Site blockers don't really reduce the "start navigating to a distracting site" muscle memory, and they eventually just become annoying. Dopamine is a hell of a drug. At the same time, I've been getting frustrated that my intermediate/advanced math skills have atrophied, and becoming more senior in my career (plus AI...) has caused my coding skills to atrophy even further. Realistically I'm not going to force myself to do math or coding exercises aft

I’m a psychologist, not a developer. Over the past few months, I used Google AI Studio to build Psycurate.com Why? The digital mental health space has become exhausting—too many great tools are buried under aggressive monetization, mandatory tracking, and corporate bloat. This website wants to be an accessible alternative. What Psycurate is about: * Privacy First: A space specifically for tools that respect the person using them. Tools that do not harvest data. * A directory where anyone can discover and use these applications completely free, with no cookies and no corporate agendas and no friction * A platform to showcase tools made by ethical or indie developers that have something to offer to the mental health digital space. I just finished building the platform, so this is very much a fresh proof-of-concept. The site currently features three apps: two are simple tools I built myself, and one is from an independent creator who decided to submit their work on the platform. I w

About to launch alarm reminders in my productivity app. Thoughts? About to add alarm-based reminders. Not push notifications... real alarms that ring even when your screen is locked. You can set one for anything. A task, a habit, any date on your calendar. "Dentist 20 Nov. at 5 pm" → alarm set. "Take meds at 9 am every day" → alarm set. I built this because push notifications just aren't enough. Most people ignore them. So what if you could set an actual alarm for the thi
