I’m electrician who can’t write single line of code. I built a voice to invoice app. Here’s everything that broke. I do solar and smart home installs. Most of my invoicing used to happen at 9pm, sitting in the van, thumbs covered in dust, typing into a spreadsheet I hated. So I started building an app where you just talk. “Ran 40 meters of cable at the Novak house, four hours labour, two grand.” It transcribes, parses it into line items, spits out a PDF invoice. Takes about 20 seconds. I

hello HN, let me tell you why i built boilerroom ( https://boilerroom.ai ). throughout my past endeavours in sales, the one thing that thoroughly pissed me off was living in a million places to execute one thing; the outbound motion this includes everything top of funnel like finding leads (be it inbound or outbound), researching, filtering for qualification criteria, throwing them in a sequence, engaging them via dialer, email, and linkedin, gathering context, all the way through bottom of funnel like discovery calls, demo calls, and post-sales activities what absolutely does not exist (or if it does, a piss-poor model) is a place to simply execute this work in one place why tf do i have to be on clay, or apollo, clicking around looking for leads, researching them around myself, put them in to some other garbage software to sequence to tell me when to make a call or send out automated emails, only to get a massive backlog of things I was supposed to do, which in turn makes my whol

had me by the phone number. Great UX for calls and SMS. But per-user fees, credit systems, clunky AI bolted on. It got unbearable. So I went to port my number out. Turns out it was Twilio to Twilio. They were just reselling Twilio with a wrapper. So I vibe coded my own interface directly on Twilio and walked away. This is what's happening everywhere right now. Salesforce. HubSpot. Legacy SaaS that trapped people because switching felt impossible. Builders can see through the wrapper now. They can vibe code their way out of your moat in a weekend. Old school tech never had to be great. They just had to trap people. Those days are done.
