Browse and discover Substacks that were submitted to Hacker News.

I made an HN clone that lists only Substacks posted here. - Why? Over the years, I've discovered some great blogs here, so I thought it would be nice to have a filter for them. - Why only Substacks then and not blogs more generally? Because it's easy to query for "substack.com" in the public HN Algolia API (see below). Plus, hnblogs was already taken :) - What about substacks on custom domains then? At the bottom of the page there is a form to submit a custom domain. The site attempts to auto-validate that it is a Substack. If that fails, it is marked for manual review (which I'll do every once in a while). Approved ones will be included in the results. - How? I use HN's Algolia API to fetch substack stories by searching for "substack.com" in the url. I do this via a CloudFlare worker that has 3 separate cron triggers: (1) fetches new stories every 10 minutes and saves them in a KV store. (2) runs 2 minutes after the first, computes hot stories from new ones by simulating HN's scor

Protect your email and calendar by requiring unknown senders to solve a CAPTCHA or pay a fee.

Hi HN, The one thing AI reliably does is generate noise. Half the tools I see launch are just machines for producing more noise across more channels. And people are starting to see this in the form of emails in their inboxes as spam filters are struggling. There used to be a useful signal in email: the effort a sender put into customizing a message was a rough proxy for how relevant it actually was. AI killed that. Now it's customized slop with the appearance of effort with none of the cost. It is painful that the open internet / open channels have been abused like this. Captchainbox applies the idea of proof-of-work to email. If a sender is willing to do a bit of work to reach you, the message is more likely to be worth your time and the sender more likely to be real. The work is a traditional captcha. You can also set a pay-to-deliver amount if you want more friction. The proceeds of the delivery payment after transaction costs go to the Internet Archive and the EFF. The tool curr

AI platform with code, chat, video, image, music creation and fake detection powered by decentralized compute.

Just launched "Blue TAO CODE" at . My goal is to create a user-friendly front-end to $TAO. You can now Code, chat, create videos, images, music, search, and do fake AI detection. And there's a "FUN" page with projects created using CODE or other subnets. Check out Xagram and ratemaxxer. With Code, you can have the AI create code and you can also deploy code to production. I am paying 1/250th the cost of Claude Code. So have at it!
