Reading the week

The census grew to 7,788 published entries this week, up from 6,668 — a net addition of 1,137 new apps (versus 936 last week), with 10 entries buried this week. That's a meaningfully faster intake pace than the prior period, so some of what follows in stack shares reflects a growing, shifting mix rather than existing apps switching technologies.

Every major stack we track lost share this week: Cloudflare fell to 25.2% (from 29.6%, -4.4pts), Next.js to 22.5% (from 26.3%, -3.8pts), Vercel to 19.6% (from 23.0%, -3.4pts), and Google Analytics to 15.7% (from 18.3%, -2.6pts). Smaller categories eased too — Radix UI to 3.7% (-0.6pt) and Lovable to 3.0% (-0.5pt). These categories overlap (an app can run Next.js on Vercel behind Cloudflare), and the pool grew by over a thousand entries, so this reads as dilution from a wave of new adds spanning a broader mix of tooling, not necessarily existing apps abandoning these stacks.

On sourcing, X strengthened its lead, up to 72.1% of entries (from 70.6%, +1.5pts) — the week's largest source move. Chinese list slipped to 5.6% (from 6.5%, -0.9pt), while Reddit, Hacker News, Product Hunt, V2EX, direct, and GitHub each held within a couple tenths of a point. Survival tracking shows 10 entries buried this week and 43 currently flagged at-risk — a modest churn signal against a base of nearly 7,800, worth watching but not yet a trend.
