I'm a father of two, 7 and 12. They are obsessed with Roblox, especially Rivals. Like a lot of parents, we did not love it. We tried the usual things: block it, limit it, set timers." It became a daily battle, a lose-lose situation. So I flipped the problem. Instead of fighting what they loved, I decided to lean into it, but with a twist. Why just play an FPS when you could build one together? My kids became the PMs. Claude and I became their engineer. I was shocked by how fast we moved. We picked a name, Cooked and started building. Get in. Lock in. Get cooked! In the first 3 hours, we had an actual FPS we could play together in the browser. Next day I invited my friend's two kids over. Suddenly, I had four PMs. We had 3 laptops, 1 iPad and 1 iPhone. So in 30mins we added mobile support and could play all 5 together. I made a strategy game where you play the US or China through the AI race, 2026 to 2030, sixteen quarterly turns in the browser. One run takes about half an hour. At the start, the game seals two dice you never get to see. Inside: how hard alignment really is, and how fast takeoff compounds. You get eval reports, but only as ranges, and they flatter you most exactly when your systems are least aligned. At the end you get a debrief which shows what your evals said each quarter and also what was actually true. I lost every run I played myself so far. Every number in the game is source-backed or a labeled design choice. Some of them are wrong somewhere. There is an issue template for challenging a number with a better source, and the better source wins. No accounts, no tracking, no server, works offline after first load. AGPL, nonprofit. I got tired of doing receipt math at restaurants, so I built a free bill splitter with optional AI scanning TL;DR: Receipt Split splits restaurant bills by item. Free for manual entry + real-time sharing. AI photo scanning is optional and costs money to run, so I only charge for that part. I built Receipt Split after one too many dinners where someone said “let’s just split it evenly” while my friend was sitting there with a salad and everyone else had entrees + drinks. It’s a web app —
