I made a game where you invent an AI startup, fake your way into YC, and become federal interest It's called Slop Founder. You spin a slop idea, brand it, auto-generate the landing page, sit a 10-second YC interview, take a term sheet from someone who "moves fast when they see magic," launch on X, get ratioed, and then post about the journey on LinkedIn. I saw by @jonathan_wilke blowing up (what a success!) - and it got me inspired. But instead of cloning it 1:1 (there are a hundred copycats already), I made it my own: 🎪 Buy a parcel, prompt the AI, and get your own pixel-art slop on a shared canvas - promote your business, or just have fun filling up the floor. Honestly, the most fun I've had building in a while. Weekend project, live now!

Design slop is the feeling that tells you a website is purely AI-generated. This is an attempt to classify the design patterns behind it. Applying this scoring to recent ShowHN submissions shows that about a third of the submissions show medium to heavy design slop: https://slopcop.adriankrebs.ch/show How the scoring works: - A headless browser loads each site (Playwright) - A small in-page script analyzes the DOM and reads computed styles - Every pattern is a deterministic CSS or DOM check. There are false positives, but my manual QA run verified it’s maybe 5-10%. Is design slop bad? Not really, just uninspired. After all, the web was never about the fanciest design, and before the AI era, everything looked like Bootstrap. However, there is a difference between trying to craft your own design and just shipping with whatever defaults the LLMs output. And the same has been the case pre-LLM when using CSS/HTML templates. I guess people will get back to crafting beautiful design

Production readiness checker With AI coding and the low barrier to entry now I see a ton of people publishing apps with serious issues. I tried to build something to help with this. It’s a tool that checks apps for production-readiness issues (security, functionality, reliability, accessibility, etc.) and creates a GitHub PR with the fixes.
