I turned YouTube recommendations into an auction I’ve always thought YouTube recommendations were interesting because everyone wants the same thing: to be the next video someone watches. So I built a small experiment around that. It looks like a YouTube watch page, but the recommendation order is determined by creator bids. Highest bid = main video. Next highest bids = Up Next. Creators can also choose categories so Gaming, AI, Finance, etc. have their own rankings. W
