I finally shipped my side project with actual payment integration, an retro ad space. There was this outburst on Twitter about outbidding to claim the top spot. I found this concept a bit much and thought, why not let people pay a fixed amount? I Built a tool that finds winning ads, remixes them for your product, and scores the result before you spend money on it For months my process before launching any new ad was the same. I would dig through competitor ads manually, try to guess which ones were actually working, take notes on the angle and messaging, then build my own version and hope it landed. Sometimes it did.
